The Department of Defense is holding a Western regional meeting at the University of Arizona to present funding opportunities through the recently reinstituted DoD Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (DEPSCoR) and related DoD basic research programs. Program managers from the research agencies and other DoD representatives will participate in the meeting.

The meeting will cover the following topics:

  • How to work with the DoD, especially ARO, ONR, AFOSR
  • How to make connections with DoD basic research program officers
  • How to pursue basic research funding opportunities specific to DEPSCoR
  • How to pursue other programs within the Basic Research Office

This is a free event presented by the Department of Defense and hosted by the University of Arizona. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

There will be a poster networking session during lunch, attendees are welcome to bring their poster. Easels and foam backing boards will be provided.

4th Annual reimagine Health Research Symposium: Health and Disease over the Lifespan

The 4th Annual reimagine Health Research Symposium on Health and Disease over the Lifespan will examine the molecular and genetic basis, clinical management, societal impact and health disparities of important human diseases that occur over the lifespan, ranging from pediatric to geriatric conditions, including during gestation and the impact of the environment. The symposium will explore this theme with sessions on Aging and the Immune System, Genomic Instability and Cancer over the Lifespan, Gestation and the Environment, and Neurodevelopmental and Neurodegenerative Diseases.

 

Thanks to our generous sponsors, the Arizona Biomedical Research Centre and the Flinn Foundation, there is no cost to attend the symposium. This event is free and open to the public. Attendees will be able to attend virtually via Whova. We highly recommend researchers and health care professionals attend. The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix Research Office, Arizona Biomedical Research Centre, and Flinn Foundation are co-hosting the 4th Annual reimagine Health Research Symposium to be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
